Terms & Conditions
These terms set out the agreement between you and Cahaya AI when you use our website or enrol in one of our courses. We have written them to be as clear as possible.
Last updated: 1 January 2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
By visiting our website, submitting an enquiry, or enrolling in a Cahaya AI course, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If any part of these terms does not seem right for your situation, please get in touch with us before proceeding — we are happy to clarify.
These terms apply to all learners, website visitors, and anyone who communicates with us for the purpose of enrolling in or enquiring about our programmes.
2. About Our Courses
Cahaya AI offers online courses in artificial intelligence, machine learning, and related subjects. Our current programmes are:
- Foundations in AI Thinking — a six-week introductory course covering Python basics, data handling, and core model concepts. Priced at RM 980.
- Machine Learning in Practice — an eleven-week practical track covering data preparation, training, and evaluation. Priced at RM 1,400.
- Deep Learning District — a thirteen-week advanced track covering neural network architectures, training, and deployment. Priced at RM 1,840.
Course content, duration, and pricing are subject to change. We will communicate any changes to enrolled learners before they take effect.
3. Enrolment and Registration
Enrolment is confirmed only once we have received full payment and sent you a written confirmation. Places in each cohort are limited and allocated in the order in which enrolments are completed.
You are responsible for providing accurate registration information. If you need to update your details after enrolment, please contact us at [email protected].
Our courses are open to individuals aged 18 and above. We reserve the right to decline an enrolment at our discretion.
4. Fees and Payment
All fees are displayed in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) and are inclusive of any applicable taxes unless stated otherwise. Payment is due in full at the time of enrolment unless a payment plan has been agreed in writing.
We accept payments through our authorised payment channels. We do not store card details on our servers — payments are handled by our secure payment partners.
If a payment fails or is disputed, we reserve the right to suspend access to course materials until the matter is resolved.
5. Refunds and Cancellations
We understand that circumstances change. Our refund terms are as follows:
- Cancellations made at least 14 days before the cohort start date are eligible for a full refund.
- Cancellations made 7 to 13 days before the cohort start date are eligible for a 50% refund.
- Cancellations made fewer than 7 days before the start date, or after the cohort has begun, are not eligible for a refund. We will consider requests on a case-by-case basis in exceptional circumstances.
- If Cahaya AI cancels or significantly reschedules a cohort, enrolled learners will receive a full refund or the option to transfer to the next available cohort.
To request a cancellation or discuss your situation, please contact us at [email protected].
6. Course Access and Materials
On enrolment confirmation, you will receive access to the course platform and materials relevant to your programme. Access is personal and non-transferable.
For the Deep Learning District track, course materials and the alumni community remain accessible after the course ends, as described in the course outline. For other tracks, post-course access arrangements will be communicated at enrolment.
We make reasonable efforts to ensure materials are available throughout your course, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted access due to maintenance, technical issues, or circumstances beyond our control.
7. Learner Conduct
We aim to maintain a respectful and supportive learning environment for all participants. As a learner, you agree to:
- Engage with mentors and fellow learners with courtesy and respect.
- Not share course access credentials or materials with anyone outside your enrolment.
- Not reproduce, distribute, or resell course content without written permission.
- Not engage in any conduct that disrupts the learning experience of others.
We reserve the right to remove a learner from a cohort, without refund, if their conduct is found to be harmful or disruptive.
8. Intellectual Property
All content on the Cahaya AI website and within our courses — including lesson materials, slides, exercises, videos, and written guides — is the intellectual property of Cahaya AI or its licensors. Nothing in these terms grants you ownership of that content.
You retain ownership of any work you create during a course, such as projects and written submissions.
If you wish to reference or share course materials outside of personal study, please contact us for permission.
9. Limitation of Liability
Cahaya AI provides education and learning support. We do not guarantee any specific outcome, employment result, or career progression following completion of a course. Learning outcomes depend on individual effort, prior knowledge, and external circumstances.
To the extent permitted by Malaysian law, our liability for any loss or damage arising from your use of our website or participation in our courses is limited to the fees you paid for the relevant course.
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for matters that cannot be excluded by law, such as personal injury caused by negligence.
10. Privacy
Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which forms part of this agreement. By enrolling or submitting an enquiry, you acknowledge that you have read and understood that policy.
11. Website Use
You may use our website for lawful purposes only. You agree not to attempt to access systems or data beyond what is made available to you, introduce malicious code, or use automated tools to scrape content without our permission.
We reserve the right to restrict access to the website for any user who misuses it.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when they were last revised. Continued use of our website or enrolment in a course after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
For enrolled learners, we will provide reasonable notice of any significant changes before they apply to an active enrolment.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of Malaysia. Any dispute arising from or related to these terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia. We will always aim to resolve disputes informally and in good faith before resorting to formal proceedings.
